AI production planning for the packaging industry
Riventic Flow plans folding cartons, labels, film and corrugated board across all stages and machines. The AI optimizes the whole plan and learns setup and run times from your data. In use in the packaging industry.

Folding cartons, film or corrugated? Flow plans each of them.
The stages differ, the task stays the same: many orders, setup times that depend on the sequence, tools and waiting times between steps. Flow plans each stage with its machines on one planning board.
Folding cartons and labels
Gang sheets, cutting dies, coating and foil as setup features, drying after printing. Flow plans labels on reels the same way: printing, finishing, die-cutting, slitting.
Film
Setup sequences by color and printing form, the curing time after laminating as a buffer time, reel and bag making as stages of their own.
Corrugated board
From the corrugator to the folder-gluer. Printing plates and cutting dies are tools that never run on two machines at once; Flow learns the setup times from your shop floor data.
Still planning with Excel and a board? The AI optimizes every stage.
From printing through cold foil, hot foil and embossing to die-cutter and folder-gluer: Flow calculates the plan for all machines in under 5 minutes, checks it against your constraints and uses setup and run times it learns from your data.

Too much time lost to setup at press and die-cutter? Flow groups UV coating, cold foil and special coating.
Production groups bring together operations with the same UV coating, cold foil or special coating. Flow suggests suitable groups and learns the setup times from your production data.
Plan and machines drifting apart? Flow shows what happens at press and die-cutter.
Riventic Flow reads the events of the shop floor data collection continuously: start, stop, setup, downtime with its reason. The planning board shows plan and reality on top of each other and is always up to date.

What makes packaging hard to plan? Exactly what Flow takes into account.
These rules come from packaging production practice. They apply in every plan and in every optimization.

Cutting dies
A cutting die never runs on two die-cutters at the same time. Flow plans orders with the same die one after the other.
Gang sheets
Flow plans the positions of one printed sheet together; the optimization does not split them.
Drying after printing
Flow keeps the buffer time after printing. If a plan cuts it short, a planning warning shows.
Coating categories
If the bill of materials and the master data disagree on the coating, Flow reports it before planning.
Two shifts at the limit
If a two-shift machine runs at high load, Flow recommends a third shift.
Setup sequences
Setup times depend on the order before. Flow calculates them from your shop floor data, not from a catalog.
Do you work with BOXSOFT®? Yes. Flow sits on top of your ERP.
Riventic Flow does not replace your ERP. It reads the data from BOXSOFT®, SAP or Odoo, and the AI optimizes the plan on it. The finished plan goes back to the ERP.
Your ERP stays in use. Riventic Flow comes as its own layer on top.

Where does Flow run today? In the packaging industry.
Riventic Flow is in operation there today.
- AI-based planning of all machines and stages
- Data exchange with the existing ERP
- Connected shop floor data collection
- More orders on time, less planning effort for the planners
Questions from print and packaging
What packaging producers want to know before the demo.
Does Flow check whether the material is there?
Yes, if you switch it on: Flow plans an operation only once its material is available, such as board or film. For this, it projects the stock across the whole plan.
What happens with rush orders and breakdowns?
Shop floor data collection (BDE) reports a breakdown on the planning board at once. You drag affected operations or a rush order to a new place, or Flow finds the best place for up to ten operations, mostly within seconds. Beforehand, Flow shows what changes.
What does our IT need?
Flow is installed once on a server in your plant (on premises). Users work in the browser and install nothing. Sign-in runs locally, through LDAP and Active Directory, or with SSO and passkeys. Flow connects to BOXSOFT®, SAP and Odoo directly and to other systems through a REST API.
How does the demo work?
Online, about 30–45 minutes, with sample data, free and without obligation. You do not need your own data.
