On 6 June 2026, Riventic took 2nd place at the CIO innovation competition of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, run by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs. In the competition's third edition, the »Gewerbe-Pilot Sachsen-Anhalt« concept prevailed against 23 submissions. Bernd Schlömer, State Secretary and CIO of Saxony-Anhalt, presented the certificate at the »Tomorrow Labs« science festival in Magdeburg's Wissenschaftshafen. The project carries a prize of €25,000.
What the Gewerbe-Pilot does
Registering a business has meant filling in forms, looking up legal terms and sending the same details to several authorities. The Gewerbe-Pilot replaces the form with a guided dialogue. A generative language model asks for the required details, explains unfamiliar terms and checks each entry against trade law and local rules before anything is submitted.
Three parts carry the concept:
- Enter once (once-only): The data flows to the trade office, tax office and chamber of commerce via the XÖV standard. Nobody types the same details twice.
- Checks in real time: The system validates every entry against the legal requirements and flags gaps before submission, not weeks later by post.
- Status in view: A dashboard shows citizens and the administration how far an application has progressed.
How it is built
The Gewerbe-Pilot separates three layers: an open-source language model for the dialogue (such as Mistral), a validation layer for the legal checks, and a distribution layer that forwards the registration to the authorities via XGewerbeanzeige, BundID and Elster. The language model runs on sovereign cloud infrastructure, so applicants' data stays in public hands rather than going to a commercial AI provider.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Lang submitted the concept; Konstantin Rolf delivered the five-minute pitch in the final round on 29 April 2026. From 23 ideas, the Gewerbe-Pilot first reached the top ten and then the top three.
Connection to Riventic Nexus
The architecture behind the Gewerbe-Pilot, a sovereign open-source language model with a guided dialogue and a validation layer, is the basis for our product Riventic Nexus. It carries the principle from a public-sector procedure over to an organization's own knowledge: a language model answers questions from a company's approved documents and cites the source for every statement. Riventic Nexus is in development.
